Meet Your Coach

My name is Andrew Leliveld and I live in Springford, Ontario. Like many, I was taught to move the chess pieces as a kid but was never acquainted with its profound depths until later in life. It was only as an adult that I discovered chess could be a competitive career and life-long endeavor.

I began a passionate pursuit of learning its intricacies in 2017 and began travelling for over-the-board (OTB) competition in 2022. In a short 2-year period, I competed in 26 regulated tournaments (17 OTB, 7 Online) and gained international competitive experience in the Canadian Open 2022 and Reykjavik Open 2024. My training continues with the goal of one day achieving a National Master title from the Chess Federation of Canada (CFC).

My hopes in founding UN-TILTED were to share my passion for chess, help others to discover the game’s artistic beauty, and steer students along a more effective path to chess proficiency. In the near future, I plan to become a CFC organizer/arbiter in order to bring CFC regulated tournaments to our local communities.
